THAILAND DLT & TISI CERTIFICATION
Thailand's TISI automotive certification is a mandatory requirement enforced by the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) to ensure safety and environmental compliance. TISI is the primary authority responsible for protecting consumer safety, safeguarding the environment, and maintaining the competitiveness of Thai industries.
DLT homologation, on the other hand, is overseen by the Thailand Department of Land Transport (DLT), which operates under the Ministry of Transport. Its main functions include improving traffic laws, vehicle regulations, and other related legislation, developing the land transport network, as well as conducting vehicle inspections and annual checks. Thailand's complete vehicle DLT certification governs various vehicle types, including passenger cars, light-duty trucks, heavy-duty trucks, buses, trailers, and motorcycles. Thailand adopts a complete vehicle type approval certification model, combining a dual-certification system of international certification (UN WVTA certification) and domestic certification (TISI emissions certification). Automotive products must undergo testing and certification in accordance with UN ECE regulations. After obtaining the UN WVTA certificate, vehicles must also undergo emissions testing locally in Thailand according to TISI standards. Pure electric vehicles are exempt from emissions certification.
